Sudeepta is a rising senior at Hightstown High School in New Jersey, USA, with a deep passion for the arts. She began her Bharatanatyam studies with Guru Smt. Ramya Ramnarayan, at the mere age of 6, and her love for the art form and its unique cultural aspects have followed since. Along with Bharatanatyam, Sudeepta has been dancing ballet for 11 years at Princeton Ballet School under the guidance of world-renowned faculty, taking part in productions of classical ballets since. Sudeepta's revere for dance is followed by a strong understanding of Carnatic and Western classical music, with training in both vocals and mallet percussion. She is also the Yuva Cultural Lead for KCOB, an NJ-based Kannada association. She spends her time volunteering as a Kannada teacher for elementary-age children and fundraising for Rotary International.
In addition to her out-of-school extracurriculars, Sudeepta is an Honors and AP student, a member of the National Honors Society, and plans to major in International Affairs and World History, eventually pursuing a career in International Law. Within school, Sudeepta serves as the HHS Debate Team Captain, the East Windsor Board of Education Student Policy Liason, and the HHS Future Business Leaders of America Vice President of Public Relations. In addition, she was recently elected as the President of SAATHH, her school's South Asian club, choreographing for the Classical, Raas, and Hip-Hop teams.
Sudeepta would like to thank all the friends, family, and teachers joining her in person and virtually today. She acknowledges every person's efforts to bring her to this point and is very excited to share her passion for dance and continue this journey into the future.
